The Austrian organisation SOS MITMENSCH has been asking refugees this question: What does it need to arrive at “home” in Austria, what kind of obstacles are migrants facing? The resulting portraits provide insights into experiences, difficulties and success stories of people on the run. At the same time they can serve as a plea to politics and government, how to develop adequate integration measures and reflect on disintegrative instruments.

The first portrait is dedicated to Ali Amiri who came with his parents to Europe and never lost sight of his passion for artistic gymnastics. Today his home is in the Tyrol, where he works as a trainer and where he also teaches media literacy…
