The homo sapiens has always been a homo migrans, Massimo Livi Bacci says, a 1936 born professor for demography at the University of Florence and politician. It is his plea against the high incidence of xenophobic, homophobic and racist slogans and populist groups to read the history of migration as history of mankind. Moving is in the nature of man, it is an integral part of being human, an ability to improve living conditions. Therefore migration is a fundamental human characteristic and a constitutive element of our society.
